Meet Guidelines
These guidelines are here to keep things simple, safe and enjoyable for everyone on site.
They’re based on The Camping and Caravanning Club rules, but explained in a practical, common-sense way so you know what to expect when you arrive.
Most of it is straightforward, and if you’re ever unsure, just ask. Stewards and fellow campers are always happy to help.
Guidelines based on The Camping and Caravanning Club Code of Conduct

-
Meets are open to members of The Camping and Caravanning Club only.
At Temporary Holiday Sites, non-members may stay as guests within a member’s unit or pitch, subject to the Club guest arrangements and any fee in place at the time. Non-members cannot bring their own unit unless they join The Camping and Caravanning Club first.
For weekend meets and other short meets of up to 5 days, anyone camping overnight must be a member of The Camping and Caravanning Club. Day visitors may be allowed unless stated otherwise.
-
When you arrive, please check in with the steward so we know you are here and can point you in the right direction.
Please show your Club membership card to the steward so they can check you in and help you get settled.
To help us set up safely, please arrive no earlier than the published opening time.
-
Pitches are offered on a first come, first served basis, and the steward will help you with your final positioning.
We are not normally able to save pitches for other units. Any exceptions are up to the steward.
The steward is responsible for the running of the meet, so please follow any guidance they give to help everything run smoothly.
Please keep your speed to 5 mph while on site.
Quiet time is between 11pm and 7am. Please avoid noise and vehicle movement during this time unless essential.
Units should be spaced at least 20 feet or 6 metres apart, measured between the facing walls.
Unattended units cannot be left on site overnight for safety and insurance reasons.
Please follow any guidance from the steward about vehicle movement, especially in wet conditions, to help protect the field.
Generators may only be used with consideration for other campers and during South Wales DA permitted times: 11am to 12pm and 5pm to 6pm. If you need to use a generator outside these times for medical reasons, please speak to the steward.
-
A bucket of water should be placed outside your unit as a basic fire safety measure.
Please fully unwind electric hook-up leads when in use to prevent overheating.
Raised barbecues may be used, provided they are kept off the ground and used safely.
Barbecues must never be used inside tents, awnings or poorly ventilated spaces.
Only fully licensed drivers may drive on site.
Please do not tow aqua rolls or water containers behind vehicles while on site.
Open fires are not permitted on the camping field.
Please do not smoke or vape in marquees or enclosed communal areas.
Gas cylinders that are part of your caravan, motorhome or normal camping setup are permitted. Cylinders larger than 15 kg are not allowed. Additional or freestanding cylinders should only be used with the steward’s approval.
Electric hook-up splitters are not permitted.
-
Grey water arrangements vary by site, so please check with the steward when you arrive.
Waste facilities also vary by site. Some meets and Temporary Holiday Sites provide rubbish collection, while others do not.
If no facilities are provided, please take your waste home with you.
Please leave your pitch and the site clean and tidy when you depart.
Chemical toilet waste must only be emptied at the designated Elsan disposal point.
Please do not take any part of a toilet cassette or related equipment to the drinking water point.
-
Dogs are very welcome. Please keep them on a lead no longer than 2 metres and clean up after them.
Ball games may be allowed with the steward’s permission and should take place well away from units.
Kites, drones and model aircraft are not permitted on site.
Any legal restrictions on dog breeds still apply.
-
Our meets are run by volunteers who want everyone to enjoy themselves. A bit of consideration helps keep things pleasant for everyone.
Please treat fellow campers and stewards with respect.
Abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.
Please follow any guidance the steward gives for each meet.
Please leave the site as you would hope to find it.
These guidelines apply to all District Association meets across The Camping and Caravanning Club.
You’re welcome to attend meets organised by any District Association, as well as Regions and Special Interest Sections, throughout the UK.
Thank you for helping keep our meets safe, friendly and enjoyable for everyone.
