Connecting Campers, Creating Memories
South Wales DA is part of The Camping and Caravanning Club, bringing campers together across the region for relaxed, low-cost meets.
We have been organising meets across South Wales for many years, welcoming members from across the UK. In 2025, we celebrated our 75th year.
About South Wales DA
Camping with South Wales DA is about more than just great locations. It’s about meeting people, sharing experiences and enjoying simple, relaxed camping together.
We bring people together through organised meets where members can enjoy the outdoors, share camping tips and explore new places in a welcoming environment.
South Wales offers outstanding locations for camping, from rolling hills and dramatic coastlines to peaceful valleys. Whether it’s the Brecon Beacons, Pembrey Country Park, or the coast at Fontygary and Porthcawl, each meet offers something different.
With meets running throughout the year, you’ll always find a friendly and informal atmosphere, whether you’re new to DA camping or have been attending for years.
We offer affordable camping for families and individuals, with low-cost meets across South Wales.
South Wales DA is run by a committee of volunteers who organise meets and keep the DA active. The committee is appointed each year at our Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Guest Camping and Additional Adult Fees
Guest camping is available on Temporary Holiday Sites (THSs). Non-members may attend as guests of a member, stay within their unit, and purchase a Temporary Membership (£3.50).
Additional adults not named on a membership are charged £2.50 per night.
South Wales DA remains one of the more affordable District Associations, with some charging significantly more per additional adult.
Our Region
As a member of The Camping and Caravanning Club, you are free to camp with any District Association across the UK, giving you access to a wide range of meets, Temporary Holiday Sites and events.
South Wales DA is proud to be part of the Cambrian & Wyvern Region, a thriving community built on friendship, shared experiences and regional collaboration. Alongside West Wales DA, Gwent DA, Gloucestershire DA, Worcestershire and Herefordshire DA, and East Worcestershire DA, we form a strong network that welcomes campers from all backgrounds.
Each District Association in the region hosts a variety of meets and events, offering something for everyone. Whether you prefer scenic escapes, social gatherings or historic locations, there is always an opportunity to explore and enjoy the best of camping.
You do not need to belong to South Wales DA to camp with us. Members from any District Association are welcome at any of our meets and Temporary Holiday Sites, and our members are free to attend events organised by other District Associations, Regions and Special Interest Sections across the UK.
District Associations
When you join The Camping and Caravanning Club, you are assigned to a District Association based on your home postcode.
You can change your DA at any time if you move or regularly camp with a different group.
